An interesting piece on how Google uses A/B tests to refine user interfaces. Google's interfaces all seem so nondescript, but there is plenty of thought that goes into them.

Gmail got imap support this evening, which is very cool. Though I must admit I'm going the other way: I've been consolidating all of my POP accounts on the gmail client. Personally I like the gmail client more than Thunderbird or Mac mail. Offline support is the only thing lacking, but how much you want to bet they are working on a Google Gears version of Gmail?

Google is 9 years old today.
